SAM WEATHERHEAD
The graduate of West Catholic High School in Grand Rapids is attending Michigan State University. He will team with Hackett graduate Ted Rider, who plays golf at Holy Cross. The two players won their respective divisions at the state tournament this past year. Weatherhead enjoyed a stellar high school career at West Catholic. He won the Division 3 title for the second year in a row this past year, firing a final round 68 at Bedford Valley. He also won five of the seven tournaments he played in, including the Kent County Classic and Forest Hills Invitational. He qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur this past year. Weatherhead’s season culminated in him being named “Mr. Golf” for the state of Michigan. He was also named to the Super Team and was an All-State selection.

MATT ALESSI
Both Matt Alessi and his partner from the KCC, Adam Anderson, are University of Michigan graduates and Wolverine golfers. He is playing in his third KCC Invitational after graduating this past year. He received Academic All-Big Ten recognition for Spring 2013 for the second year in a row. He also won the Tom Trueblood Award Most Improved Player for 2013 along with the U-M Athletic Academic Achievement Award. He competed in 12 events with 2 rounds under par. His scoring average for the year was 75.71, while his scoring average for his collegiate career was 76.98. He had four top-20 finishes in his career along with one top-10 finish. At the Colleton River Collegiate in March, he tied for 8th place shooting rounds of 85-75-73. He placed 54th at the 2013 Big Ten Championships where he fired 78-79-79-78. This was his career best 72-hole tournament. He also placed 51st in the Puerto Rico Classic last season shooting a 224 for three rounds. Alessi tallied a career best 54-hole tournament total of 216 (69-73-74) at the Hoosier Invitational. He was the second alternate at 2011 U.S. Amateur Championship qualifier (72-73/145) and also qualified for the 2010 U.S. Amateur (71-71/142).

BRETT MCINTOSH
Playing in his third KCC Invitational, McIntosh will be a junior at the University of Michigan. He will pair with Hackett graduate and U-M bound Luke Stull, who enjoyed an outstanding high school career that culminated in All-State and Academic All-State honors. As a freshman, McIntosh received the U-M Athletic Academic Achievement Award along with the Jim Carras Award for Development. McIntosh started in all 12 tournaments, which makes him only one of three Wolverines to do so. Brett made his collegiate debut and first career start at the Inverness Intercollegiate, tying for third place. He went on to lead the team in three events posting four top-20 finishes. He competed in his first Big Ten Championships tying for 15th at 299 (74-75-76-74). Brett ended his first season averaging 74.75 strokes per round. He shot 24-of-28 rounds below 80, with 18 at-or-below 75 and two sub-70. He shot his career best 5-under 66 in the second round of the Hoosier Invitational. In that same tournament, he also tallied a career best 54-hole tournament total of 3-under 210 (72-66-72).

The Florida State University senior from Lima, Peru, will play in his second KCC Invitational, teaming with Dr. Michael Chafty. As a freshman, Lolas’ best finish was a tie for 7th at the Linger Longer Invitational with a tournament total of 214. He fired two rounds under par in that tournament. Following his freshman season, he earned a 12th place finish at the 2011 South American Amateur Championship. In the spring of his junior season, Lolas finished in a tie for 14th at the Gator Invitational, firing rounds of 73-72-72. This past season, Lolas turned in his best tournament at the Seminole Intercollegiate, tying for 7th and posting a 7-under par total. He was the low Florida State player in that tournament. He also finished under par at the Gary Koch Invitational, finishing in a tie for 12th. He has a career scoring average of 74.77 at FSU.

He is the grandson of Michigan Golf Hall of Fame’s, Pete Green, who won the Michigan Amateur four times across four different decades. Charlie was a four-year varsity golf letter winner and two-year captain at Detroit Catholic Central. Entering his senior year of high school, he earned first-team All-State honors all three seasons, in addition to being an All-District and All-Catholic choice. As a senior, he received Michigan All State Honorable Mention honors. As a high school freshman, Green helped lead his team to the state championship, tying for third individually. He placed 15th as a sophomore and 17th as a junior at the state meet. Green tied for second at the 2012 AJGA Midwest Junior Players Championship.

From Purdue University and France, Enzo Perez is playing in his second KCC Invitational with KCC’s Bob Kramer, a 2012 finalist. He will be a senior at Purdue University this fall. As a freshman, Perez was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree. He played in six tournaments with a 74.82 scoring average. That season, he shot his season best 214 to tie for 16th at the Windon Memorial and placed 55th at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional. Perez finished 21st at the Southwestern Amateur and 22nd at the Northern Amateur in 2011. As a sophomore, his scoring average was 74.79, playing in 10 tournaments for the Boilermakers. His best finish as a sophomore was a tie for 4th place in the Mission Inn Spectacular shooting 73-69-73 for a 215 one-under par total. In April 2013, Perez helped his team to a 7th place finish at the 2013 Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship. He turned in a top-20 showing, shooting 74 (+2) on Sunday to move into a tie for 17th place. Perez finished the weekend with a total of 300 (+12).
